CompressWeb Home

Tim Berners-Lee, invented the WWW in 1989 while working at CERN, the European Particle Physics Laboratory. Today, the WWW affects our daily life in such a way that it is difficult to get by without it. As time goes by the Web is evolving based on the collective needs of the on-line community. A wealth of information and services are instantly made available to us with just a few clicks of mouse button. The Web is still growing and will continue to do so as different needs cause organizations across the globe to develop more powerful internet tools and services that facilitate life at home and office.

Founded on 1999, CompressWeb's goal has been how to extend WWW technology. Based on this strategy we have developed an expanding range of tools that facilitate internet usage. Email Questionnaire or simply EQ, is a questionnaire system that helps people to communicate with others by combining existing email channels with WWW technology. EQ is simple to use and does not require any special training since it is based on technologies that are already familiar to most internet users. EQ can send out questionnaires to any number of recipients, collect replies and display the results in easy to understand formats.

At the same time, our researchers at CompressWeb have discovered that the WWW is a one-directional, passive way to get information. Information is typically page based and is difficult for users to manage information. Although XML has been around for some time the technology is still not very popular. Providing a way to allow internet users to tailor WWW information is the goal of our next product, Web Monitor. WM, provides a way to let users select information that interests them while browsing. The Web Monitor engine will monitor that information as it changes and display it in different formats.

At CompressWeb we are constantly looking for new ways to get the most out of the Internet. Our goal is to pursue new technologies that will make the Internet a more enjoyable, productive environment.
